Joists supported on the central wall and a concrete lintel over the door opening. These will be extended over the top of the existing kitchen

Here the joists are set out at 400 centres on the middle supporting wall. The joists will come from the outer walls and cross in the centre, then be bolted together with 150mm carriage bolts and spiked with 4" nails to the plates. A central herring bone strutting runs through the middle to give extra strength
